Developing Characters

Hello there! It has certainly been a bit since I last posted. But I am ready to get back on my mojo!  With much determination i decided to begin my character development post by picking out the name.

Naming:

Although some may not think a name is crucial, it is, in fact, something that helps storytellers develop an identity, personality, and depth. Therefore, I began typing on my broken computer to find “unique” names. I don't want to use the regular jo names, I want to be a little bit more creative ands again, through the name, I want to build another layer. Even though I want the name to be unique, I want it to roll off the tongue. I'm not going to lie, I have been scrolling through tons of baby name websites, and i cant seem to find any unique ones. Most of what I'm seeing are pretty general names that I hear every day. Therefore, let's try our next best thing…. TikTok! Okay, guys, after skimming through the internet i have found two names that I like. Drum roll please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Siena and Octavia (and Ayden if I decide to add an extra character)

If I'm being honest, I mainly picked Sienna because I absolutely love the song “Sienna” by The Marias, but also because, after doing some more browsing, the name derives from the reddish and brownish brick color. Regardless of its dull background, I think it gives off a very warm and earthy vibe. For Octavia, I wasn't expecting much…just the ability for nicknames. In the tragic scene of her death, I want Siena to say her name of endearment, and I believe that the nickname could evoke a more emotional response from the audience.

Now, to further enhance my visual depiction and vibe of my characters, I will be creating a picture board. Images of them will be below. THIS IS A PRE-APOLYPTIC WORLD.
